Lots of room to grow and get involved on various projects and committees, including puppy enrichment, safety, morale, etc.
Requiring solid teamwork and communication skills, your work will entail feeding and bathing dogs, maintaining a clean kennel and an enriched environment while adhering to strict biosecurity protocols.
You will assist with breeding, whelping, and caring for newborn puppies.
This department is staffed 24/7 so your workdays and hours will include weekends as well as day, evening and overnight shifts.
You will be assigned a regular schedule with 2 days off in a row.
Position also includes maintaining precise feeding records, administering basic medications, and maintaining precise kennel records.
Must be able to safely handle a variety of large breed dogs, weighing up to 90 pounds and be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent attendance with a strong work ethic
- An interest in learning the details of specialized dog care
- Strong attention to detail, good observational and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to take direction well and work as part of a team.
- Ability to withstand up to 4 hours of repetitive bending, stooping, standing, keeling, squatting, scooping and hosing.
